01. returns
01.a: For printable products [printing with us]
  • We cannot issue returns for printable products. We can’t remove the printed ink from the product to resell or reuse the materials for other jobs.
  • Any printed products returned to us will be destroyed before disposal. In this, no refund will be issued for unprompted returned printed products.
01.a.1: Printable item return exception:
  • You may be asked to return printed goods to Split Arrow Print House in the event of a reprint, recall, or error on our part.
01.a.2: Printable item return exception 2:
  • The shipping service brought your order back to us due to a shipping error. We will do everything in our power to reach out to correct any missing information via email or phone call, repack, relabel, reship, and inspect for any damage and correct it automatically.
01.b: Returns for general store merchandise
  • For damaged, defective, dissatisfied, or sizing issues please email photos/describe the issues to our team.
  • We will be happy to look over the case to issue an exchange, gift certificate, store credit, or refund within 30 days from the placement of the order.
    This policy applies only to house made goods/ merchandise items, not printable item orders.
  • General store merchandise refers to shop designed & printed goods like, but not limited to: wall art, posters, stickers, books, zines, apparel, & accessories.
  • * General store merchandise does not include ‘custom’ printed/ printable products. * [items printed for somebody other than Split Arrow Print House]
01.c: Returns for digital downloads & zero [$0.00] priced items
  • How would that even work? No.
01.d: Returns for designing & for install work:
  • No, That’s not even possible.
01.e: Returns for sale items
  • On sale items that are returned will be refunded at the sale price and not the original full price or in the event of a newly adjusted price.
  • The opposite is also true. Returning items solely to obtain a new sale price may not be granted. We do our best to advertise any sale upcoming before the sale price is official. Please check out our social media for sale details.
 
02. reprints
  • While we do our best to catch mistakes that happen before or during printing, we are humans and our quality assurance inspections may miss something.

  • We will need a photo, scan, or copy of the order form if any item from your order is missing, damaged, or incorrectly printed [Ie. Wrong size, wrong border, or wrong paper]. To qualify for a potential refund you please contact us with your order form within 48 hours of receiving your order notifying us of an issue.

  • If a reprint is in order. We may ask you to cover the shipping cost both or one way/s to get the item/s to you.

  • You may be requested to ship all of your original order back to Split Arrow Print House in order for it to be properly inspected and then destroyed before a reprint will occur.

  • The Reprint may be based on the total quantity received back. [Example: If you ordered 10 prints, but Split Arrow Print House only received 7 prints back on your return shipment, the upcoming reprint will only include 7 prints with no refund of the difference in print quantities]

  • We reserve the right to accept or reject the claim for reprinting with any reason given or not.
 
03. refunds
03.a: Orders already printed, shipped, or picked up
  • We at Split Arrow Print House retain the right to refuse or issue refunds on a case by case basis after reviewing your hand written order form attached to your order.
  • Split Arrow Print House will need a photo, scan, or copy of the order form if any item from your order is missing, damaged, or incorrectly printed [Ie. Wrong size, wrong border, or wrong paper].
  • To qualify for a potential refund you please contact us with your order form within 48 hours of receiving your order.
03.b: Orders Not Yet Printed
  • We work quick, if you want to cancel your online placed order please cancel your order within 24 hours or less of ordering and we can issue you full refund automatically.
03.c: Special Orders:
  • If custom or special materials are needed to be ordered for your job, you may be granted a partial refund on a case by case basis depending on where in the printing process the job is. The partial refund may consist of the final job price minus all materials already ordered, time spent, human labor costs, admin fees, & restocking fees, etc. as needed for the job.
03.d: Design & Installs:
  • We can’t & won’t refund a designers time for creating your artwork or installing your graphics. As much as we wish we had a time machine to refund time spent, we don’t. We can’t refund the cost of the job that requires a human hand to create.
03.e: Printing Has Begun
  • Orders that are canceled but the printing process has already begun may be offered only a partial refund based on a case by case basis.
  • We cannot reuse materials from a job that’s already or partially printed.

04. misorders
  • We work fast so if there is an issue with the order placed or a misorder, please notify us within 24 hours from placing the order to inform us of and to correct the mistake before we print!

  • In the event of a misorder that is corrected with a price difference the artist ordering will need to pay the remaining balance before printing. [Ie. different size, different quantities, etc.] For corrections that end in a cheaper price a refund or account credit of the difference will be offered.

  • You may receive a digital proof before printing to approve. If you have a digital proof, please double check & triple check before approving. Once a proof is approved your order will begin printing promptly.

  • In the event you sent the wrong file feel free to contact us with your new file before printing begins! We generally begin the printing process 24 hours or less after ordering depending on order volume.
 
05. file & artwork errors
  • Your file is inspected for errors before we print by a human. 
The file is then added to one of our templates with the proper ICC profile added before printing. If an error is found we try our best to notify the person ordering of these errors before continuing with printing. Small obvious errors may be corrected on the artists behalf without notice of correction.

    Errors we look for are but not limited to: resolution issues, stray marks, scanning bed lines, dark lines on edges, wrong dimensions, uneven borders, tilted or skewed art, weird paper textures, bleeds, errors near the edge of the print like unconnected backgrounds.

    While we check for errors and do our best to catch and inform. The original artist is responsible for sending print ready files. Split Arrow Print House is not required or nor responsible for correcting or notifying the artist of these errors before printing. While we strive to make the best product and stand behind "printing like we give a shit", we can only do the best with what is sent to us. When sending files make sure they are print ready! The spot of spilled ink is might be a mistake to you, but to us it looks part of the art, and it may be printed as it is on the file.

  • Errors on part of the client/ artist ordering the printed goods are not subject to reprints or refunds after printing has begun.
    Examples being but not limited to: spelling, low dpi or resolution, smudges, spots or blurry flies, color errors, wrong dimensions, misordered items, etc.

  • In the event your file is not print ready or needs major corrections your file will be sent back with a request to fix. If you are unable to correct the mistakes, we may offer a fee to correct your file on your behalf.

  • If the file cannot or will not be fixed by either the original artist or our team your order will be canceled & refunded. A replacement order with a new file will be needed.

  • Design rates are $85/hour, illustration rates are $150/ hour, Photography rates are $125/ hour. All rates are charged by whole & half hours only.

06. the dreaded banned list
  • If your account has numerous returns requests after printing, reprint requests for no reason, spontaneous and improbable order issues, or flagged for fraud, or by attempting to defraud us. We will ban you from printing & ordering for life.

  • If you think you’ve been improperly banned. [almost impossible to happen] You should try to reach out to us to see what the issue was and find a way to correct it.
 
07. misprints
  • Split Arrow Print House will need a photo, scan, or copy of the order form if any item from your order is incorrectly printed [Ie. Wrong size, wrong border, or wrong paper].
    To qualify for a potential refund you please contact us with your order form within 48 hours of receiving your order.
 
08. order minimums
  • Each product or size has a different minimum posted on each product page. The minimum order is to maximize printer efficiency and minimize wasted paper and ink. While we can make some exceptions on a case by case basis, we reserve the right to refuse to print under the listed minimum for any reason disclosed or undisclosed.
 
09. turn times + rush orders
  • All products have different turn times, and not all are available for rush due to printing process. Days that the shop is closed for vacation, holidays or emergencies (such as health, weather, family etc.) will be posted on the website and across social media.
    All orders placed over that time will begin when the shop opens back up or posted date. Rush options are not available on any items when the shop is closed. 

  • If you need a proof with your order, your turn time or rush begins when you approve of your proof.

  • 3PM cut off Monday-Friday for all rushed orders
    Rush shipping is separate from rush printing!
    You must take in account the turn time and shipping time to get your product in time.
    Please choose an appropriate shipping time for your needs. 
    Depending on our print schedule we reserve the right to hold, prevent, or reject rush orders, with or without given reason.

    Rush order time is counted Monday - Friday 12am-3pm business days only. We do not count federal holidays.
 
10. proofs + artwork approvals
  • Printable product orders that require proofs will have a notice to approve of while building your product. This is so you are aware we will be sending an email within 24-48 hours
  • [Monday-Friday business days] of your order for you to look at.
    Your proof will contain all information needed to check size, die lines, safe zones, bleeds, time lines, color spaces, order counts, coatings, styles, or any other job specific information required to acknowledge before printing begins.

  • Printing begins after proof approval. Failure to reply to your proof will approval will result in a held or canceled order. All turn times and rush options will begin after proof approval. [so, check that email sometime! You said you would when you ordered anyways.]
 
11. quality assurance
  • We at Split Arrow Print House believe every artist should have access to the highest quality printed goods possible. We want every artist to make a living from selling their work. We want you to be so proud of your printed products you can’t help but share our shop with everybody!

  • But we need your help to make that happen too. We can only print amazing products when the file we receive is high quality and accurate. We offer tons of free templates, e-books, & social media videos sharing information on how to get the most of out of your printed work.

  • We will not print work that appears low quality. Our reputation and quality is what we are known for. Printing low quality, stretched, skewed, pixilated, or unintentionally errored work can reflect poorly on our quality.

  • In the event the file we receive is low quality the artist will be requested to fix/ repair/ or modify their work to become print ready.

  • The only exception granted to pixelated art will be if the art is intentionally pixelated ie: 8-bit, 16-bit, or illustrated to appear pixelated intentionally, etc. 

  • If you are unsure your work will print well. Send it to us for us to look at! We will gladly help you fix your file, tell you what it needs, provide recommendations, give you templates, or offer to correct it for you for our design fee.

Here’s what we do with your printed order to insure it’s correct
  1. We will inspect the file upon download & confirm it matches the order.
  2. Add the file to our print templates for size and resolution matching.
  3. The color space will be made to match the paper ordered or ink color separations will be performed. [using our custom made ICC profiles or accurately scanned Risograph ink colors]
  4. Bleeds will be added if not present and small corrections may occur in this process.
  5. Alternatively a proof will be create for artist approval or the file is returned for corrections.
  6. The order form is created by hand and double checked to the online order.
  7. We then will check it as the first print comes out of the printer to find & correct any file errors we could miss on screen.
  8. We inspect and check for additional print or paper errors in our initial trimming process. We will pull the bad print & reprint as needed.
  9. The printed work is counted.
  10. For risograph the work is inspected for missed impressions.
  11. The work may be rested to fully flatten or fully dry.
  12. The work heads to machine for final trim.
  13. The work is then checked again for cutting errors.
  14. The work is counted multiple times by separate people before packing.
  15. The final printed product is wrapped in tissue then packed for shipping or pick up orders with any extras or remaining pieces of your order.
  16. Your order form is completed and signed off on.
  17. We ship, deliver, or notify to set an appointment for pick up.
 
12. held, incomplete, or rejected orders
  • Our order system may hold your order for manual reviewing or may cancel it automatically without human intervention. 
    We check orders for, IP address mismatching, country ordered then shipped to a different country, multiple credit cards from a single IP, multiple orders from the same card at a given time, first time shopper, suspicious carts [high order value, overly large quantities of a single product, etc.] suspicious shipping options used, or more. We also reserve the right to cancel your order outright if we feel it is suspicious or fraudulent in any way or form we see fit, without written reason or contact.

  • Orders may be manually held due to non-contact after we sent a proof. In this case we will hold for 7 business days before canceling the order and issuing a full refund.

  • Orders marked as “incomplete” in our system. 
Caused by improper or incomplete payment information. We will reach out to notify to correct the issue and confirm you still want the order. If no response is given we will cancel the order within 7 business days.
 
13. social media & advertisement
  • We reserve the right to photograph or video record your printed work for our website, social media, or other digital service/s for use of advertising or marketing. This is how we show what we do and how well we do it and we always post artist credit where we can. [we can’t if we can’t find you, but will correct it if you let us know]

  • If you do not wish to have your work reposted in any manner or have a specific release date to not post until please inform us along with your order and we’d be happy to respect your request.

  • Also please help us spread the word about us! We want you to love your printed work as much as we do and we’d love to see everybody share where you got your prints made.

14. out of stock items or papers
  • If the paper or item you chose is out of stock and will not be available within the printing time frame, someone will notify you ASAP. Clients/ artists can opt to hold their order until the paper comes in, or choose a different option or product. Cost will be adjusted when choosing a different product, you are responsible for paying the remaining balance if there is one, or a refund will be offered for a negative adjustment.

  • Out of stock items will often be listed as a preorder as soon as it’s sold out with a date listed on when it should return.

  • Unfortunately papers sometimes get discontinued before we reorder. In the event we can’t get the paper again but your work was partially printed, we will reach out to you with a custom solution.
 
15. general shipping policy
  • We can ship to virtually any address in the world. Note that there are potentially restrictions on some products, and some products cannot be shipped to international destinations these may be blocked from shipping automatically using that item’s customs information.

  • When you place an order, we will estimate shipping and delivery dates for you based on the availability of your items and the shipping options you choose. Depending on the shipping provider you choose, shipping date estimates may appear on the shipping quotes page.

  • During winter holidays shipping companies get backed up and chances for packages going missing or delayed goes up, while we hope it doesn’t happen it can, please keep this in mind when choosing shipping times.

  • Need your box sent someplace else like the a hotel or convention center? Let us know we will do our best to redirect or ship directly to where you need it to be. We are not responsible for items delayed due to change in delivery and we will not issue any refunds due to delayed shipping of any kind.

  • We will not adjust our customs or shipping information to cheat the system for lower fees, customs holds, or taxes.
 
16. lost, stolen or damaged items in shipping
  • Once the package leaves our shop we unfortunately do not have control over what happens to it. We take care to insure our packages via UPS & USPS for the value of the items, and pack them to insure there is minimal chance of damage, however we have seen it all and packages arrive looking like a group of hungry bears thought it was a picnic basket. Because of this, all lost and damaged packages must be reported through UPS or USPS first.
    Please let us know too so we can double check everything and help where we can but it is your duty as the receiver to report the damage to the shipping company.

  • We cannot offer reprints, or refunds for lost, stolen, or damaged packages without a carrior UPS / USPS / FEDEX / DHL claim being open.
 
17. pricing + promotions + tariffs + price adjustments
  • We reserve the right to changes prices, put on sale, or give products away with or without notice, at any time with or without reason. We also reserve the right to cancel contests or promotions early or without resolution.

  • We try to withhold price increases as much as we can and have often opted to cut our own pay or lower prices instead. Based on our material costs we have and will continue to adjust accordingly up or down as we need throughout the year with or without notice.

  • With the constant childish threats of trade wars and tariffs since late 2024 [and from 2016-2020] our pricing may fluctuate throughout the year. While we try our best to keep printing options affordable. Since we import many raw materials, we are subject to increase tariffs cause by a single man child that somehow embodies the definition of incompetent.

  • In an effort to be accessible, printable options that have high material price adjustments may be discontinued or modified as needed.

  • We are not able to change your cost or issue a refund of the difference due to a price change. We are a small business of 2 people and provide many opportunities to view our upcoming sales, such as social media promotion, email blasts, website banner/ popup/ images, blog posts, etc. The person placing the order is responsible for paying the total due at the time of ordering and are not allowed to cancel/return/exchange their order due to price changes and/or promotion.
 
18. color matching
  • We use the best in screen and printer calibration technology we can to make sure your colors are printing as close as possible! We have about a 98% color match rate, and take pride in offering bright, vibrant prints for you to sell to your clients.

  • Our color match goal is ≦ΔE1

  • We custom calibrate each paper to match our screens and printers.

  • You can download and use our custom ICC profiles while designing to see what we see.

  • Our screens get calibrated monthly to the highest calibration we can, under a d50 (5000k) environment. 

  • If you want to request our monthly screen ICC profile please send us an email.

  • However the best technology is only as good as the quality of file we were sent, if your file isn’t near or representative to your original art, we have no reference to color match.
 
19. sending or bringing physical artwork to our production location
  • We stopped accepting physical art in 2016 due to too many lost, damaged, or completely missing original artworks. We do not intend to re-offer this service in the future.

  • If you want to send us a gift of artwork. Awesome! We have a huge art collection and love gifts of cool art for our shop or personal collection and often send cool art or stuff back.

  • However if you want to send us a gift of art or for an art trade, framed or not, please reach out via email, social media, or phone if you have it, so we can help you ship safely and accurately to us.

    Shipping to us is complex and has rules. It’s annoying to us too, but we shockingly do not control the four main shipping companies. We can literally name the people reasonable for our delivery problems, but sadly do not hold government office to make those necessary changes.

  • Our receiving of packages varies by carrier. We are located in a large warehouse strip and packages are often mis-delivered or just disappear. We don’t prefer mail to be sent to our shop unless completely necessary.

  • Do not ship us original artwork to the print shop! Do not do this! We will never ask you to do this. Seriously do not. It will get damaged, It will get lost, There’s nothing we can do. It has happened so many times, we had to put a stop to all of it. Sorry.

  • We do not accept any physical artwork for printing purposes. This includes for the purpose of scanning or photography. Please send digital files only.

  • We will not plug in a hard drive, flash drive, USB or anything of the like into any device we own. Don't be a weirdo, just get us a cloud link.

  • If you sent us art and it was lost or damages we will not replace or reimburse your costs or value of the art. Do Not Send Us Physical Artwork In The Mail!

  • We will not accept physical artwork brought to us in person for the purpose of printing, scanning, or photography.
    Also since we cannot offer it for all who wish to order from us, we don’t offer it to anybody.

  • We will not accept any framed artwork brought to the shop for us to look at while inside a frame. Frames and glass will be asked to be taken home or outside to not return. We are not a frame shop. We will not open a frame. We have no space for your frame in our shop. We don’t have a table big enough for you to de-frame while you are here. NO FRAMES! NO GLASS!

  • *If you are personal friends with Tom you may be an exception.*
 
20. custom orders
  • Since we are such a small business, custom orders are almost never an issue for us if it's in our ability.

  • If you want a custom order please reach out to us via our custom order form or email describing in detail what you’d like to make

  • We also have custom template building as an option too

  • Keep in mind there may be an up-charge for custom products, sizes, or quantities.

  • Not all items are customizable.

  • An invoice and proofs may be sent for your payment or approval before printing. All invoices must be paid in full before printing begins.
 
21. NSFW artwork
  • When printing NSFW work we understand some print houses may not print this type of work. We often do not mind printing this work. We will & have print NSFW Artwork from time to time. Artwork is often viewed subjectively we at Split Arrow Print House will use our best judgment to determine what is printable and what is not when it comes to NSFW artwork.
    The work printed may not appear in our social media content uncensored as the app moderation may flag this type of work.

  • *However there are some rules and guidelines we follow to make sure the work printed is safe & above board. The list of guidelines below is in no way a complete list and is subject to changes based on a variety of factors. *

  • NSFW can mean lots of things. Most people use this to refer to some form of nudity. But can also refer to any graphic or shocking content, like blood, gore, horror, etc. Our NSFW policy mostly cover nudity. As other content is less likely to be problematic.

  • We do not mind the depictions of blood, gore, or the like when printing.

  • NSFW Printing can also include written word.
    With book & zine printing the images / written content will be read through before printing to double check that it’s okay to print. If found to be unprintable, somebody will reach out to the artist to notify, refund, or correct the work.

  • We may ask for model release/s if your work is of a figurative subject. This ensures the work is not stolen, improperly captured [photo, drawn, painted, etc.], to make sure the nudity if any, suggestive or otherwise, is approved by the model and not a violation of their rights & that an agreement has been made with the original artist for the original work to exist, to exist as printed material, & to exist with potential to be sold as printed material.

  • We may reject work that is clearly just pornography or is a depiction of graphic or violent sexual acts.

  • We will reject NSFW work that contains celebrities, deep fakes, likeness, or is unlikely to contain the subjects permission of the work creation, printing of the image, or future sale of said printed image.

  • We will reject all AI [artificial intelligence, or generative AI] that contains any nudity, suggestive nudity, or alludes to any sexual acts.

  • Work that is illustrated or a non-photograph: Such as but not limited to: Anime, collage, digital art, paintings, drawings, etc.
    Will be subject to the same guidelines of making sure any figure/ subject has a model release signed, is not graphic pornography, does not contain the likeness of any celebrity, or the like. Or any other issue that may not be printable in its current uncensored state.

  • Work that is of a fictional character not based on a real person: Strictly a fictional character may be rejected based on content, copyright & fair use, or if it has a liability to be printed in volume. Images like fan art are subject to the request of further information or being asked for clarity or contracts to make sure it is okay to print.

  • We will not print images or depictions of people that were clearly stolen or taken without consent. I.e: screen shots, revenge porn, etc. If we suspect this is the case with the image, we may report this event to the proper authorities as needed.

  • NSFW Work that depicts minors &/or images that could appear to be minors [under 18 years old]. We will not print it even if it’s a fictional character or a made up creature, or anything. If it appears to be a minor in any NSFW way we will not print the work. We may need to report this type of event to the proper authorities as needed.

  • NSFW Work that depicts minors &/or images that could appear to be minors [under 18 years old]. We will not print it even if it’s a fictional character or a made up creature, or anything. If it appears to be a minor in any NSFW way we will not print the work. We may need to report this type of event to the proper authorities as needed.

  • State and federal laws may apply in regard to “obscenity” or distribution of “obscenity” when creating printed artwork. 
These laws can be changed to include what would normally be considered fine art or literature or even what could be considered as legally “obscene”. 
Certain state & federal officials want to tweak these definitions with the intention to ban books, written word, zines, video games, and images they feel are “indecent” to their ideology. 
Please be safe and create the art you want, but be cautions of how certain groups may use laws and legal challenges to infringe on your first amendment rights by reframing definitions and narratives to censor artwork, ban books, and destroy printed media.
    Current Federal law uses ‘The Miller Test” 1973 Miller V. California to determine ‘obscenity’. This could always be challenged or changed. Please use your own discretion when printing and selling NSFW art.

  • Non-US countries may have laws prohibiting the importing of printed goods that contain NSFW style artwork. Please look into your own laws to make sure your art can be imported before ordering.

  • This set of rules/ guidelines is subject to change at any time. We at Split Arrow Print House reserve the right to reject any work for print for any reason written or not.

  • If you are unsure your work is printable feel free to send us the file before ordering in an email outlining your concerns.
    • In general if it is tasteful, cheeky, silly, fine, figurative, burlesque, boudoir, gallery ready, ART, it’s probably fine to print.
    • If it exists for solely for shock value, humiliation, making people purposely uncomfortable for no real reason, or is grotesque & disturbing to a wide variety of individuals, It’s probably not printable.
    • Use your judgment when creating NSFW prints, ask yourself these questions first: “would somebody purchase this and hang in their home proudly?” Or “Would a museum display this in an exhibit?” Or even “Would a gallery accept this work for display or sale?” IF you answered no, We probably wouldn’t recommend printing it.
 
22. printed content moderation
  • Split Arrow Print House reserves the right to screen your artwork before printing. If your artwork is not acceptable to print your order may be canceled, money retuned, or even banned from printing with us.
    Split Arrow Print House & the team that works with us will use our judgement as needed to determine printability of content to protect our print house and the other artists who print with us.

  • A sample of work we will not print images or material of but not limited to:
    1. Clear copyright infringement [fan art is an exception but obviously risky for the artist]
    2. Work that is clearly made solely using Artificial intelligence
    3. Work that is racist
    4. Confederate images
    5. Nazi supporting images
    6. Pro-Authoritarian content
    7. Right wing propaganda
    8. MAGA / pro-trump
    9. Proud boys or any other fringe ‘militia’ groups
    10. Anti-LGBTQIA+ content
    11. Anti-marginalized groups
    12. Work that is supporting of removing rights from people
    13. Work that makes us or our staff uncomfortable
    14. Clear hate speech
    15. Clear dog whistles
    16. Red Pill Content
    17. Work that make our other artists or clients uncomfortable
    18. Any content we feel is problematic to distribute or make copies of
    19. For people, groups, organizations, or establishments known to spread hate and hateful messages

    20. **This list is not a complete list. This list may be updated as needed to be more explicitly clear.

    *Note: Some exceptions may exist for the use of imagery in movies or TV, on a case by case basis, provided a contract is signed ensuring the recorded [video & photo] destruction of ALL printed images upon immediate completion of filming with our team being a physical witness of the complete distinctions of each printed impression. [original source video & raw photo file/s will be archived in triple in our possession across a variety of digital &/ or physical formats with complete unedited metadata intact where applicable.]

23. copyright Fair Use Policy
  • The copyright law of the United States (Title 17 of the United States Code) governs the making of photocopies or other reproductions of copyrighted material. A work protected by copyright law may only be copied in conformance with copyright law and generally, you must receive permission from the copyright owner.
